About Me

My name is Joseph Cerdan and I am a Software Engineer. I currently work within a Software Team for the Australian Public Service, building business applications that are used to solve real world problems and modernise company processes.

Current tech stack that I use to develop solutions is C#, .NET Core, Windows Forms and SQL Server. From time to time I also maintain applications coded in Python or VBA. I have developed solutions to specific requirements given by users and the organisation, in collaboration with other Software Engineers, and within tight deadlines.

I also have experience in managing a small team of engineers to complete team objectives required by the organisation through stakeholder engagement, engineering guidance, and future planning.

While working full time, I also attend classes in university relating to Computer Science within my prostgraduate studies of Masters of Information Technology at University of New South Wales.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending my time playing sports in competitions or with my friends, travelling to different countries to explore different cultures, making videos of my adventures, playing videogames, and building computers.

Future Goals and Aspirations

Professional

Moving forward, I hope to continue to develop my Software Engineering skills further within professional experiences and projects that will help solve everyday challenges, improve the business I work for, and help the customers that the software is designed for.

During this time, I intend to learn more about AI and Machine Learning so that I can apply AI solutions to my work. Learning will either be self taught, leant through my university studies or learnt from my mentors. I hope to be in the software engineering team of the business I work for, applying AI to create vauable solutions to both customers and the organisation.

Casual

I hope to travel to more countries in Asia and Europe and plan to visit many of the friends that I have made during my study abroad at San Francisco State University. I also wish to visit countries with cultures I have not experienced before and hopefully create more videos to share my adventures.
